Abstract
In the societies which subordinate to power of religious authorities, one of the most important components of the ideology of the ruling elite are the teachings about the meaning and significance of rituals. Properly meaningful rituals convince believers in the authenticity of the sacred world order, as well as serve as reliable means of testing the loyalty of followers to their spiritual leaders. That is why, the reasoning of the Hasidic leaders about the role of music and hymns in worship contains important materials devoted to their conception of a righteous authority. The proposed article is devoted to the study of these materials.
