Abstract

Bing Xin is a Chinese poet, a children’s author, a translator. In 1923, she published two poetry collections “Infinite Stars” and “Spring Water”, which very quickly gained recognition and gave rise to a new movement in Chinese poetry of the 20th century – of the short poems “Xiaoshi”. Bing Xin’s short poems combine a form of free verse and a poetic view of the world of thousands-year-old Chinese poetry. A peculiarity of the process of short poems translation into Russian is not only the strict adherence to the form of the poem (the number of lines, the words per line), but also the utmost attention to the meaning of a word, since one wrongly chosen word can destroy the entire meaning of the poem.
