Abstract

The article examines dastan as a particular epic genre of the eastern literature that gives embodiment to one of the text-formative strategies so typical for sagas and folk tales. Same as sagas, dastan shapes the role worldview where the predestination of a hero plays an important part. This affirmation is true for both novelistic and heroical danstans (“Leylee and Medgenoon” by Nurmohammed Andaliba being the example of the first one).
