Abstract

The article sets a goal to consider the insufficiently explored and contradictory issue – the analysis of works of folk manuscript collections. How texts written in the manuscript collections, such as jonk or medzhuma (handwritten family miscellanies of Crimean Karaites) can be considered as works of folklore, because they were written after the advent of writing and underwent the influence of author’s work, and possibly themselves were those? What research methods should be applied to those works? Where are the limits of existence and interaction of folklore and literary works in Turkish culture?
