Abstract

The activities of the Manuscripts research center of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and statistics regarding acquisition of his main collections are discussed. We draw our attention to the main aspects of the Center working: digital library development, facsimile books and illustrated catalogs publishing, development of manuscript collections electronic catalog. The principles of materials selection, which are used by Technical Services Directorate and Public Services Directorate of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, have been represented. Statistics of the registered members quantity in 2004–2011 fiscal years has been analyzed.
