Анотація
The essay reviews the monograph of Mykola Tarasenko “Papyrus Rolls depicted in Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead Vignettes”. This book refers to the study of the iconographic motif of a papyrus roll in the illustrative tradition of the ancient Egyptian funerary collection of spells known as the Book of the Dead in all periods of its using from the New Kingdom to the Ptolemaic Period. However, the work goes far beyond purely iconographic or art analysis and aims to consider the topic in broad cultural context and thus demonstrates a multifaceted and multilevel approach to the research topic.
