МІЖНАРОДНА НАУКОВА КОНФЕРЕНЦІЯ “GEOGRAPHIES OF ARAB AND MUSLIM IDENTITY THROUGH THE EYES OF TRAVELERS” (БУХАРЕСТ, 15–16 ВЕРЕСНЯ 2017 Р.)

Анотація

On 15–16 September 2017 the international scientific conference “Geographies of Arab and Muslim Identity through the Eyes of Travelers” took place at the “Casa Universitarilor” (Bucharest) on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Arabic Department of the University of Bucharest. The event was attended by 35 participants from a number of European and Middle Eastern countries. The papers presented focused on the representation of the Other in travel accounts written by Arab and European travelers, as well as the linguistic issues of the studied sources. During the conference a collection of interviews with the Romanian Arabists was launched.
