БУДДІЙСЬКІ КОРОЛІВСЬКІ ФЕСТИВАЛІ В ДОМОДЕРНОМУ НЕПАЛІ: СОЦІАЛЬНО-ПОЛІТИЧНИЙ СИМВОЛІЗМ І РЕЛІГІЙНА ІДЕНТИЧНІСТЬ

Анотація

Стаття присвячена соціальній і політичній символіці буддійських королівських фестивалів у традиційному Непалі та ідеям, що вони несли. У процесі дослідження аналізується історія уявлень про себе різних соціальних груп у домодерному Непалі, а також низка аспектів державної ідеології. Підкреслюється, що на соціорелігійну ситуацію в домодерному та частково ранньомодерному Непалі впливали явища дуалізму у питаннях підґрунтя державної ідеології, що, ймовірно, випливало з співіснування двох великих традицій (буддизму та індуїзму). Так, король для підданих – це одночасно і ідеальний індуський монарх раджадхіраджа і буддійський вселенський володар чакравартін. Як індуїзм, так і буддизм “пропонували” свої варіанти ідеологічного обґрунтування монаршої влади, що часто перепліталися. Автор спирається, зокрема, на теорію М. Блока про “насильство, що рикошетить”, яка стає в пригоді при дослідженні “ритуальної граматики” соціально орієнтованого ритуалу. Дослідження соціально орієнтованих ритуалів та фестивалів у непальському контексті, як-от королівські буддійські фестивалі Сам’як Магадана, Карунамая (Авалокітешвара) ратхаджатра, допомагає деконструювати домодерні політичні та соціальні ідеї шляхом аналізу символізму цих фестивалів. Автор доходить висновку, що, окрім посилення королівської влади та ідеології, фестиваль такого типу був спрямований на ствердження релігійної ідентичності учасників і допомагав відновити ієрархію та постулював її промонархічну природу. Це була ще одна сила домодерної “національної” інтеграції через ритуали.
